Jerzy Werbel
Jerzy Werbel attended the University of Education and Art in Poland where his carrier initiated as painter.Grew up in a Port Polish city on the border of Germany and Poland. Painting was an emotional outlet growing up. I was naturally inclined to pick up a pencil and scribble, that and record collecting. My room was covered with original records and paintings. I can not even remember the colour of my walls. I was greatly influenced by the European expressionists . I often overlook what my subject ultimately becomes. I tend to retract and notice the obvious detail I missed and transfer them onto canvas. These "things" are often paths I have taken while on a walk. I am pretty specific about the colour I apply, but because I apply often, I run out and due to limited colour selection/product where I reside I often find myself making something out of nothing. Algonquin and Manitoulin Island is a place that I reside in while escaping the city. It's literally a breath of fresh air in the artistic and literal sense. The obvious group of seven, Kandinsky, Van Gogh, Dali, Matisse, Modigliani etc.
