Submitting Files

We prefer high-quality PDFs.

Under file, you can select the  “Save As” or “Export” option in most Adobe or Microsoft programs.

Super easy! You've got a couple of options:

  • Dropbox: If you've already got your file ready to go, you can simply send it to us via our Dropbox.

  • On any product page: When you're on any of our product pages, just hit the "Create Product" button to use our artwork builder, or upload your pre-designed file right there.

That's it! We'll take it from there and make sure your work comes out looking wicked!

Your trust and the safety of your files are top priority here. We're as committed to your data as we are to killer print and design. We've built our process to make sure your work is handled with confidentiality and care.

  • Secure Transfer: When you upload your files to us directly, they are sent over an encrypted connection using the same technology banks use to keep your data safe.

  • Confidentiality & Access Control: Your files get stored securely on our private servers, and access is strictly limited to authorized Artista team members directly working on your project.

  • No Third-Party Handlers: We never outsource your printing or design to other companies. All work is done by our team in-house, so your project is under our roof from start to finish.

It’s all about quality!

  • Vector files (like AI and EPS) are made of paths, so you can make them bigger or smaller forever without affecting print quality. Vectors stay crisp!

  • Raster files (like JPEG, TIFF, and GIF) are made of tiny squares called pixels. If you try to enlarge them, they can get blurry or pixelated, so it's best to send us a high-resolution version.

Think of a bleed as a little bit of a safety margin! It's extra colour or imagery that extends past the final cut line. So when we trim your piece, your design goes all the way to the edge without any annoying white lines showing up.

To make your file ready to go, set your design settings with a 0.125" bleed on all sides.

It's also important to keep all critical elements (like text, images, and logos) at least 0.25" away from the trim line. Anything too close may get cut off or look unbalanced after trimming.

Crop Marks (also called trim marks) are thin lines placed at all corners of an image, page or artwork layout to indicate where the paper needs to be trimmed after printing. Most design programs will offer options to add crop marks to your final print file.

Worried about not having the right print settings? You can download pre-set print guides for all of our products here.

To get the best-looking print, it's all about starting with a high-quality file!

We ask that you send images with a resolution of at least 300 dpi (dots per inch), because this is the best quality for print.

DPI (dots per inch) is often used interchangeably with PPI (pixels per inch). Basically, the more pixels per inch, the more detailed your image is. A high-resolution image of 300 dpi will look crisp and clear when printed!

Check it out:

Colours very rarely look exactly the same once printed. This is because your screen uses a light-based RGB (Red, Green, Blue) colour setting, which is different from the ink-based CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) we use for printing.

To get the most accurate colours, it's a pro move to prepare your files for print by converting them to CMYK before sending them. Or, even better – create your design in CMYK from the beginning.

To get a deep "rich black" set all four colour values (C, M, Y, K) to 100% each. Setting K only to 100% or a value of anything less than 100% will result in a washed-out black.

Glad you asked! This is an important step to getting a perfect print.

To make sure your project looks exactly the way you intended, embed your images and outline your fonts before you send the file. FYI – Saving your file as a PDF does this for you! Just remember to keep a separate working file you can edit again later.

If you’re not sending a PDF, you'll want to convert all your text to outlines or curves.

Your images also need to be embedded in your file so they don't go missing. You can usually do this in your program's links or assets palette.

For Illustrator and InDesign, just open your Links palette and look for an "embed" option. This will save the image data directly into your file!

We provide electronic soft proofs (PDF files) for every project. These proofs show you the layout and design elements of your work so you can see how everything looks before we go to print.

Keep in mind digital proofs can't guarantee 100% color accuracy, since every monitor is calibrated differently. If color is an absolute dealbreaker for you, let us know and we can provide a hard copy proof for an additional charge.

Orders and Production

Ready to rock that discount? Just before you pay, you'll see a box labeled "Coupon Code" on the bottom left. Punch in your code, hit enter, and your total adjusts.

Keep in mind our codes are one-and-done, so once a promo code’s been used, it becomes inactive.

Our design team gets to work on your project once you've placed your order. While the turnaround time you selected is just for print production, we always hustle to get your artwork back for approval in three business days of order placement.

We're committed to making your vision come to life, so we'll be ready to respond to your requests and get everything looking groovy.

We're all about those last-minute wins! While our turnaround times will vary, we offer rush production options for when you're in a pinch.

Keep in mind our daily cut-off time is 12:00 PM EST. Any order that comes in after that gets scheduled for the next business day. Also, a quick note: our turnaround times are based on business days, which means they don’t include holidays or weekends.

The best way to know for sure is to select the rush option when you're ordering.

Once your files are paid for and approved, our print team locks them in and sends them straight to the queue. Because we move fast to make sure you get your order on time, we can't make any changes once it's in production.

This is why we always recommend taking one last look at your files before you hit submit.
